“It sets us up to be in line to win another one if everything goes well,” said Burkburnett coach Jason Thomas, referring to Burkburnett’s 2009 state championship.
Lorenzo Barnes broke his own meet record by lifting a combined 1,945 pounds in the super heavyweight division. His old record was an 1,880. Burkburnett’s Preston King won the 132-pound division with a lift total of 1,140, while Ryne Cozby won gold with a 1,325 in the 181-pound division.
